I’ll be taking part in Steenberg’s ‘Flagship Tasting’ via Twitter. Follow Alex, Emily, Mida, or me on twitter from 18:30 to be part of the tasting. The idea is that Steenberg’s wine maker JD Pretorious and head chef of Bistro1682 Brad Ball, will be tweeting their thoughts on the wine and food (there are prescribed recipes apparently) along with the rest of us.
In related news I have been appointed the official wine expert for Cape Town Girl the blog to read if you are questioning the colour of your hair, the height of your heels, or if you just want to know what the alter ego of a brunette ironist is like.
This is a big slap in the face to those who thought I was merely an alcoholic with a keyboard. I am now an expert alcoholic with a keyboard. Leading the Steenberg Twitter tasting will my first job as Cape Town Girl’s official wine expert. Jobs to follow will probably include opening copious bottles of French Champagne whilst trading witty remarks with other pretty people, advising Alex on the best wine to open so as to match the length of run with decanting time, pairing different bubblies with her array of sunglasses, and filling her cellar with wines that match the blog’s tagline “Tales of the Pretty.” Which makes me hope that Steenberg have sent along some of their positively pretty Brut 1682 Pinot Noir 2006.
So come join us as we taste some of Steenberg’s excellent wines – although if they are not excellent I will tell you – on Twitter tonight at 18:30.
